Όπως αναμενόταν η ταινία «La La Land» με τους Ryan Gosling και Emma Stone είναι υποψήφια σε 14 κατηγορίες.
Όσκαρ καλύτερου αυθεντικού σεναρίου διεκδικούν ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος και ο Ευθύμης Φιλίππου για την ταινία «The Lobster – Ο αστακός».
